Reconciliations Analyst - Derivatives - Operations - Back Office - Fixed Term contract - 6 months - Up to £40K PA
Hudson Banking & Finance are looking for an experienced candidates with knowledge of working in the Back Office in a reconciliations role. The ideal person will be working within the listed derivatives operations team. Would ideally need 1+ years experience in a similar role within the financial services.
The role will be working in the below functions;
* The role will involve notification/processing of closeouts, dealing with trade break queries, exchange reporting, funding and pre funding, FX, position limits, and resolving reconciliation breaks.
* Working as part of an Operations team of around 50 persons - Back Office team, Clearing Team, and Deliveries
* Strong liaison with exchanges, internal departments - including clearing, Middle Office, IT and client service areas.
The Key responsibilities:
* Completing reconciliations and proving out reasons for differences rather than accepting solutions therefore ensuring the reconciliation is accurate.
* Completing checklists in a timely fashion and performing functions according to procedures.
* Escalating when unsure, being consistent by following procedure, meticulous accuracy and keep exposure to an absolute minimum. Issues identified should be escalated according to procedure.
* Trade discrepancies have to be followed up in a timely manner, and the continual monitoring of longevity of breaks with a view to escalation where necessary.
* Understanding of impact on clients and downstream departments, minimising impact of resolution failures on these groups.
Ideal candidate will have the essential skills below;
* Minimum 1 year or equivalent experience in a derivative reconciliations department or other experience or qualifications that demonstrate an aptitude for a reconciliations role.
* Sound knowledge of Futures and Options and mechanics of a Back Office.
* An understanding of Back Office processing systems and Middleware.
* Experience with reconciling against clearing agents - either affiliates or carrying brokers on non European markets.
* Familiar with a variety of common desktop applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Word, Lotus Notes and Internet browsers.
* Knowledge of listed derivative systems such as Clearvision and GMI
