Job Summary:
The Senior BI Cognos Developer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in design, development and implementation of Cognos solutions. This person should demonstrate an expert knowledge level of BI and the Cognos Suite of tools, and have the ability to solve complex reporting problems. The ability to think outside the box is essential for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create, tuning and testing complex report against large and complex OLAP/OLTP data sets
- Develop inline JavaScript for report studio as required
- Create and maintain reports using Cognos 8.X/10.x using Suite of tools
- Develop and maintain Framework models and packages
- Create report specs from business requirements.
- Participate in requirement meetings with end-users to understand and collect BI reporting requirements.
- Validate the accuracy of reports, including variance from prior data
- Develop Test Cases
- Strong knowledge of HealthCare industry, a plus
Qualification:
- 5+ year of developing complex solution using IBM Cognos 8.x, 10.x Suite (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Even Studio) in both an OLTP/OLAP environment.
- 5+ years of experience in data warehousing and Business Intelligence with emphasis on Application Design, development, testing, implementation, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- 5+ years of experience using SQL Server 8/T-SQL, Oracle 11i/PL/SQL.
- At least 5 years of experience creating both relational and dimensional model, creating and deploying packages using Framework Manager.
- Experience create complex dashboard using the Cognos Suite.
- Experience using Cognos SDK
- Experience translating user requirements into Framework Manager Models, reports, and dashboards
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Experience developing active reports Cognos 10
- Cognos Mobile BI a plus!
