Description
Commercial Manager required for an immediate start for a major Central Government organisation based in Bristol. The role is for 6 months with the option for a further 6 month extension.

Key Tasks:
- Provide commercial management support to the asset support contract for Areas including target cost agreements, change management (incl. assessing compensation events) and final accounting.
- Providing advice on commercial issues, construction economics and cost intelligence to business partners across the agency
- Ensuring governance is maintained in line with Investment Control Framework and Project Control Framework for change control on schemes
- Settlement of Final Accounts for completed construction schemes
- Successfully manage the commercial aspects of highway maintenance schemes to ensure that contract compliance and risk are dealt with effectively
- Work collaboratively with delivery partners, commercial assurance specialists, supervisors, project managers and delivery teams
- Knowledge transfer to other team members
Qualifications Required:
Degree in quantity surveying/engineering/construction related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
- A quantity surveyor or experienced construction professional with a strong emphasis on commercial management
- Strong track record of delivering results within tight time scales
- Experience of working with Engineering Construction Contract or contracts for construction and maintenance is essential
Essential Skills/Knowledge:
- Assessing/validating target prices, compensation events and applications for payment/final accounts in accordance with Engineering Construction Contract operating principles.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge: MRICS
- Support will be provided to familiarise candidate with Major Project processes and procedures.
- Some travel to Birmingham may be required occasionally.
