An exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager is available within this leading E-commerce company. The position reports to the Head of Internal Communications and is part of the wider Communications department.

The overall purpose of the role will be to partner with designated business areas, acting as a dedicated resource for those areas, working with them to define their key messages, implement and measure 'local' internal communications plans and engage their people in on-going conversation about important issues. Additionally, you will provide information to the communications team about the initiatives coming up from within the main business areas.

Key accountabilities within the role will include but are not limited to;

To support key senior management in the delivery of their key business objectives by providing:

  • excellent writing/editing support to shape messages and align with business goals and strategy
  • strategic advice on the most appropriate and best practice methods for delivery of key messages
  • information about initiatives in other parts of the business or that may have an impact on their requirements
  • evaluation and measurement of communications activities

To support and help deliver a two way communication and engagement plan for each business area that involves the management of the division in the communication process

To include face to face platforms to support information cascade

To proactively develop positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders - eg senior management teams, Project Leads, Communications, Marketing and HR etc.

To provide key information to ensure that relevant business areas are appropriately represented and reflected within the network-wide internal communications tools and forums.

Suitable candidates will have a number of years' experience in Internal Communications. You will be a creative thinker who can develop and implement ideas in line with company culture. You should have experience of acting as a 'communications consultant' with an understanding of how to define business driven, results oriented internal communications plans either in an agency or in-house. You will need to have experience of working closely with senior management and influential stakeholders and be confident and articulate with excellent listening skills. You should be a good presenter and be able to make recommendations with gravitas and inspire confidence in others. You will need to be assertive and able to deal with difficult people and situations.

Working in a fast paced environment you will need the ability to deal with pressure, cope with a large workload and multi-skill and juggle your tasks to deal with conflicting agendas and fluctuating priorities.

You must be technically adept and able to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc
