Reporting to: Mechanical design team leader.
Base location: Edinburgh
Qualifications: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) minimum five years post graduate experience.

Position Offered
* Contract Position.
* Office based 37.5 hours/week.

* Technical competence.

* Capable of working as part of a diverse team.
* I T capable with good knowledge of Visual Basic programming in Excel programs.
* Experience of Pressure Vessel design to ASME VIII Div 1.
* Experience of heat exchanger design.
* Experience of pipe stress analysis. Autopipe and or Caesar II.
* Working knowledge of process and instrument diagrams (P&ID's)
* Ability to interpolate client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Design of mechanical components associated with marine cargo plants and onshore facilities to code and classification requirements, principally for liquefied gas storage and handling. Ensuring safe and economical design is satisfied and striving for continuous improvement in the design aspects.
* Piping Design.
* Production and checking of engineering documents such as:
Equipment data sheets.
Calculations.
Material Lists.
Procedures Internal and Client.
* Evaluation and approval of third party designs (vendors).
* Liaison with other departments when required.
* Comply with company polices and procedures.

There can be occasions where requirement for international travel arises and any potential employee should hold their relevant passport and be able to travel unrestricted.
