About the Company/Position:
My Client is looking for a talented Linux Engineer to join the Online Engineering team. Working in a talented team of Open source professionals you will be involved in a number of Linux Projects as well as provide 4th level support to the Operation Engineers, testers and Developers. Ideally I am looking for someone with a DevOps background - someone who can work with the different technology groups to assist in a Roll out of Puppet and rebuild of the Production Infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Rebuilding Production Infrastructure
- Rolling out Puppet
- Developing a Python, Django web application to define node configurations
- Level 4 Support to the Development and Testing Teams
- Designing and implementing a Continuous Deployment Environment
- DevOPs - apply agile methodologies to systems engineering tasks
Required Skills:
- Expert in Linux Technologiesn (Red Hat, SUSE)
- Experience with different Automation technologies - Puppet experience - highly preferred
- Excellent Scripting Skills (Perl, Shell, Python)
- DevOps Background
- Ability to learn new technologies
- Experience with Virtualisation Technologies (KVM, Solaris Zones, VMware... )
