Our client needs an experienced IT Support Technician for their office in Dublin

The role is based in the growing Dublin datacentre, but some travel may be required. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for reporting and highlighting issues with systems and/or equipment.

The position requires hands-on experience with:

  • Server Hardware (HP & Dell Racks)
  • Linux O/S (installation configuration and troubleshooting) and relevant software
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure environments, and prioritise relevant issues by severity.
  • High level of efficiency, flexibility and professionalism. Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write and develop documentation concisely and clearly
  • Asset management/Inventory and procurement of IT equipment, and IT life cycles.
  • A wide variety of product, issues and customer types

The position requires the following technical qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of technical issues with Linux/Unix, hardware and software.
  • Linux/Unix system support and simple administrative Scripting.
  • Windows Server administration, including AD
  • Windows desktop support (XP/Vista/7). Mac support experience is desirable
  • Broad network technology understanding including port troubleshooting, Cisco switching, wireless and data cabling.
  • Good VoIP understanding
