*SENIOR Mechanical Engineer - OIL & GAS - £500 - £700 PER DAY - ABERDEEN*
My market leading client within the Drilling Rig Installations field are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to start ASAP in their Aberdeen office to oversee the procurement of Mechanical Drilling Equipment.
My Drilling Rig Installations client is looking to hire immediately and will pay bewteen £500 - £700 per day for candidates with the required Drilling Equipment or Rig Installation background.
Responsibilities:
Taking on the role of project lead for various drilling equipment projects
Co-ordinating projects with Cameron LETOURNEAU, Loadmaster Derrick & Equipment and Fluid Systems Inc in the USA
Keeping up to date with latest mechanical codes and specifications
Assisting other departments such as electrical, structural, sales, service, quality assurance and admin departments as and when required
Project engineering and management including taking responsibility for project profitability
General mechanical engineering
Conduct analysis & design reviews on mechanical equipment
Project costing & cost control
Attending customer meetings to discuss various project matters
Surveying drilling equipment and systems (onshore and offshore)
Writing & compiling technical reports & equipment purchase specifications
Generating project plans
Updating project plans and providing reports to customers
Co-ordinating with and managing equipment vendors
Updating CAD drawings
Assisting with product documentation and certification
Reviewing & writing technical and purchase specifications
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Technical degree essential
Strong mechanical background
Experience with drilling equipment an advantage
Experience with mechanical hoisting or rotating equipment essential
Experience with Autocad & Microsoft Project an advantage
Hard working, motivated and an attention to detail
