Senior Business Analyst - Financial - Qualified accountant with a CPA, ACA or MBA equivalent qualification

My client is a leading name in the Insurance market and they are seeking a Senior Business Analyst, to join their London, City based EMEA Finance Team.

Skills Required:
A qualified accountant with a CPA, ACA or MBA equivalent qualification
Management accounting experience, primarily in a large, global, multi-divisional organization
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to interact as an equal with senior business management
Possess a high level of business understanding
Excellent analytical skills with ability to recognize incorrect or inconsistent numbers/reports before they spread any wider and create reputational risk
Have a good understanding of databases
Possess excellent IT skills and in particular be able to develop and work with advanced models Hyperion/Essbase/Oracle knowledge

Some of the Role and responsibilities:
Implement a high quality financial framework that adequately meets the needs of a professional Financial Control organization.
One that enables delivery of high quality financial reports and analysis.
One that heightens awareness of and maintains operational excellence in everything it does.
Ensure that all business management have transparency over the financial records and results and ensure delivery of financial reports and analyses thereon to help manage and grow the business
Gaining a full understanding of the cost base and making recommendations on how best to support the provision of financial analysis
Making recommendations where necessary for the enhancement of profitability
Understand fully the management reporting structures
Develop and implement an integrated and consistent KPI framework to aid the understanding of EMEA Central Costs, IT, and organisational allocations.
Review and approve transactions relating to EMEA Central Cost Departments
Review the monthly accounting of EMEA Central Cost for completeness and accuracy
Drive and support the development and execution of the EMEA Budgeting and Forecasting process. Participate (and drive as necessary) in growth and efficiency initiatives of the EMEA Central Cost functions at the same time ensuring any investments made here are in line with the overall EMEA Business Plans. Constantly keep appraised of developments within these functions within the region, identifying issues and topics for broader dissemination across Finance.
Develop and foster business relationships with EMEA Central Cost and Other Business heads with the primary aim of showing to the Business that the EMEA FP&A team can be seen as a trusted business partner.
Understand fully the management reporting structures
Understand the MI database structure and be able to collate data from different sources/often complex systems
Develop and foster business relationships with other FPA Finance members within the EMEA FPA team and also across all other Finance functions. Develop a highly motivated and professional team who take responsibility for what they do.
Provide regular updates to EMEA CFO on major initiatives/developments
Where necessary co-ordinate with/support the Finance teams in NY
