Overview:

Top executive responsible for the overall global (EU and US) Supply Chain for the company's marketed products and compounds in development. Sets manufacturing strategy to ensure attainment of financial and strategic goals, translating strategy into tactics, priorities and resource requirements. Oversees the functions of manufacturing (overseeing contract manufacturers), material procurement and supply chain logistics.

The VP, Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain Management is responsible for overseeing all commercial manufacturing of Drug Substance, Drug Product and Packaging, Distribution and Logistics. This position would have four main functions:

1) API/DP Manufacturing: To oversee procurement and manufacturing operations at all CMOs; troubleshoot and coordinate activities

2) Packaging Operations: To oversee commercial packaging activities

3) Distribution/Logistics: Coordinate procurement and material management

4) Quality: Assures that products are manufactured in accordance to specifications and in compliance to regulations and cGMPs.

Specific Responsibilities:

1) Ensures smooth transition and tech transfer from the Research team or external sources to large-scale production

2) Manages outsourced manufacturing activities and Supply Chain Management

3) Coordinates production schedules based on forecast and trends

4) Reviews contracts and proposals, supply terms, conditions and selects suppliers

5) Monitors and troubleshoots manufacturing issues

6) Communicates risks and delays to senior management on a timely basis

7) Develops long range strategic plans

8) Develops annual operational plans and budgets

9) Develops contingency plans including security stocks and second-source suppliers for development-stage and commercial products

10) Develops and implements best practices across all manufacturing sites
