GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Completions Manager is responsible for completions operations. Responsible for contracting completions personnel and equipment to carry our Company's completions program and monitors performance. Ensures engineering design operations practices, training, and safety performance meet company expectations. Responsible for generating completion AFE's as well as controlling costs during actual completions process. This position has the ability to modify technical guidelines and makes independent decisions that are typically not subject to technical review. Act as an interdisciplinary coordinator to ensure efficient project execution. Must be able to manage and mentor a team of engineers; may assist in training less experienced Engineers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Provide strategy and solutions for completions issues / operations
  • Coordinate the project completions plans and schedules closely with all other departments
  • Report project progress and highlight completion plan issues / deviations
  • Identify critical needs and issues to develop specific well completion designs and alternatives for consideration
  • Identify hazards, best practices, evaluates state of the art equipment and practices, and incorporates sound engineering practices for the design and construction of all new well completions and recompletion candidates
  • Manage design and well completion changes as determined by internal control standards, and effectively communicate all well completion changes to the regional team
  • Provide input to the team on where to locate wells and facilities, how to mechanically configure completions and the size and type of stimulation
  • Provide AFE cost estimates for facilities and completions plans
  • Prepare written procedures to stimulate wells
  • Supervise execution of well completion procedures to ensure safety, quality and control costs
  • Analyze completions database and offset production to predict Non-Op well performance and preparing written AFE justification
  • Develop good relations with and effectively manage equipment contractors and suppliers
  • Support Business Development and Reservoir engineering in the preparation of scoping cost estimates for acquisitions and the budget and planning processes
  • On call support, including nights and weekends may be required for field locations
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons
  • Other duties as assigned


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • B.S. degree in Petroleum (preferred), Mechanical, Chemical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 12 years of applicable Petroleum / Completions engineering experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with WellView and other commonly used industry software
  • Comprehensive understanding of onshore land, unconventional resource plays in regards to completion design and execution
  • Deliver functional well designs that account for the entire life-cycle of the producing asset
  • Strong technical knowledge and operational experience required in horizontal well completions engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge and operational experience with coiled tubing operations in horizontal wells
  • Highly skilled in engineering economic evaluations
  • Driven, organized and detail oriented
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing demands on resources
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team a team environment and manage/mentor engineers
  • Applies specialized knowledge in the completion of projects
  • Actively transfer knowledge to colleagues and management
  • Excellent communication skills including: written, verbal and formal presentation
