Our client is looking for an SAP Business Object consultant to Provide second-level support on all of the Business Objects products purchased within the framework contract and deployed at the European Commission, acting as the single go-to Business Objects expert.

- University degree with +/- 5 years experience with IT and 2 with BO
- English (written & spoken)
- Knowledge of these systems: DESKI, WEBI, BODI, Live Office, Excelsius + complementary tools as CMC, designers
- Knowledge of these tools on end-user, developer, installation/configuration and architecture knowledge + also for migration aspects
- Basis knowledge of Unix or equivalent desired
- Service minded and good human contact
Environment = mix of MS Windows and Unix
On-going tasks:
- Provide second-level support on all of the Business Objects products purchased within the framework contract and deployed at the European Commission, acting as the single go-to Business Objects expert resource. The product list includes the main IDD and EIM tools (Business Objects Enterprise platform's reporting and data analysis modules, Data Integrator).
- Assist the clients Product Management in evaluating newly-released or newly-purchased Business Objects products and applications; validate them within the EC's environments.
- Assist the central hosted services team in defining and evolving the Business Objects 6.5 and Data Integrator XI configurations for best reliability and maintainability.
- Provide and document best practice advice, methodology and technical assistance to the development teams through migration projects.
- Define, develop and optimise ad hoc solutions to Data Integrator development issues caused by production environment constraints. Develop ETL solutions as required.
- Identify and fix performance bottlenecks through the pre-deployment load test phases on both IDD and EID solutions.
- Facilitate communication and resource management between the European Commission and Business Objects, from the technical and licensing perspectives.
- Raise all unsolved issues to the SAP Service Market Place and facilitate all the follow up between the European Commission's Directions and the SAP support
Specific project currently running:
- Validation of Business Objects Data Services (BODS) XI 3.2. Assisting in the migration from Business Objects Data Integrator (BODI) 11.7 to the new version BODS XI 3.2.
- Validation of the Business Objects XI 3.1 SP4
