Key responsibilities will include:
  • Draw on relevant professional qualifications and expertise in financial services risk management to design and manage the delivery of a programme of work to continuously develop the Companys risk framework
  • Design a fit for purpose assessment approach to be used in assessing the risk framework
  • Keeping the risk framework up to date
  • Proactively engage and build relationships with the Risk Leadership Team, successfully managing their contribution to the delivery of assessing and developing risk policies, methodologies and infrastructure underpinning risk framework
  • Using excellent organisational skills, manage the assessment of the operation of the three lines of defence across the business
  • Design and implement robust processes for the regular review, approval and compliance attestation of all the companies policies. Maintain the VM policy suite.
  • Plan and deliver the annual Risk culture agenda to embed the risk management framework
  • Manage a Risk communications programme for the department and the business
  • Design and deliver an ongoing programme of Risk training awareness sessions on risk frameworks and risk appetite for all appropriate staff
  • Working with HR, align risk management values into relevant and specific staff performance objectives and performance evaluation processes
  • Champion recognition throughout the business of excellent risk management strategies by actively cultivating relationships with management across the business
  • Coordinate and control the content of the Risk intranet site


To be considered you will have a background in risk management, a relevant professional qualificationand the desire to cultivate and embed a risk culture within the business. Excellent knowledge of risk frameworks is essential, as are outstanding organisational skills. You should have proven stakeholder management skills, coupled with the drive and ability to generate new and beneficial business relationships. Previous training / coaching experience would be beneficial, as would experience creating and executing communications programmes.
