You will be working for one of the largest digital marketing services in Australia. Based in Melbourne CBD, conveniently located close to public transport, this company is recognised as a leader in their field.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Java Programmer you will:
- Provide senior development expertise in the delivery of EMS
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for EMS components
- Assist with achieving technical roadmap for the of SAPI Extensions & Search components
- Participate in estimating tasks, and assist the Development Lead to deliver initiatives (projects, application fixes etc.) on time and to specification
- Resolve business and/or technical problems in production systems with the aim to provide a permanent solution
- Perform root cause analysis and document findings, providing input into Major Incident Reports when required
- Contribute to the IP management and governance of the software development process, as well as the ongoing development and documentation of these processes
- Contribute to the technical direction of the support and/or development teams
- Collaborate with other developers, providing technical assistance and technical expertise where appropriate
- Mentor other developers, providing technical direction and technical expertise where appropriate
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
As the ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven and previous experience as a Senior Java Programmer
- Previous experience in systems development & implementation
- Solid knowledge of and experience with software engineering practices, Agile development, Test Driven Development, Automated Builds, Code Versioning Systems, Issue Tracking Systems etc.
- Solid understanding of algorithm design, design patterns etc.
- Solid experience in data and object modelling
- Direct experience with Databases (Oracle) and database technologies including SQL
- In depth experience of Java includes Server Side development
- Reasonable knowledge and experience in UNIX operating system
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate issues to non-technical management
