DESCRIPTION:

• Completes high quality, well-designed systems and processes that make appropriate use of technology
• Understands Investment Market and Reference Data and Data Management best practices.
• Responsible for design, development, maintenance and documentation of accounting and market data flows for scheduled and straight-through processing
• Understands existing business process requirements and makes recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate
• Ensures that personally completed code entering production is sound and developed following standards
• Develops personal plans and milestones appropriate for completion of all work assignments.
• Updates and communicate project status to management and colleagues

Skills:

• Computer Science or Business degree or equivalent working experience
• Should have familiarity and hands-on experience with ETL Development
• Knowledge of Market data and in particular Bloomberg Data License
• Must be able to work effectively with Business Analysts and Project Managers for assigned tasks and deliverable timelines
• 5 - 7 years experience in the Information Technology industry with a minimum of 1 year experience specifically architecting or programming a major RDBMS (Data Modeling, SQL Programming, Stored Procedures)
• Familiarity with Investment Management related concepts and data
• Good knowledge of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques
• A sound knowledge of current computer programming methodologies and standards, process engineering approaches, and data management practices
• Experience with the full project life cycle from conception to implementation and support
• Experience with Portfolio Accounting Systems, Bloomberg, FAME, FactSet or other financial systems an asset
• Familiarity with design/development with Visual Studio, ASP, Java, and UC4 an asset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must have good communication skills.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Capital Markets Experience is nice to have.
