Sr. Database Administrator
A global name in the industry is looking for a Sr. Database Administrator to join their team!
You will be responsible for various MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle databases and emerging NoSQL data stores.
You will cover the full life cycle from discovery to design, installation, backing up, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, upgrading and retiring of the databases.
This will be a six month contract that could go much longer. Some of the preferred skills are, experience with Oracle and NoSQL (Hadoop, MongoDB, Riak, CouchDB and other NoSQL DB's), MySQL cluster and SQL Server cluster/replication, along with Microsoft SQL Server
Required skills:
- 7+ years supporting MySQL databases for a variety of applications (particularly for customer facing websites)
- 5+ years configuring and troubleshooting in high transaction volume environments.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts, internals and architecture.
- Good communication skills
