Link Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer for a great contract opportunity in Las Vegas, NV.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for day-to-day information security operations and assigned projects. Major functions include information security monitoring and risk management, PCI DSS self-assessment, Internet defense, vulnerability assessment and remediation, Information Technology operations oversight and security metrics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:

  • Applies a deep understanding of the information security, cyber security, and operational characteristics of a variety of computer platforms, networks, software applications, and operating systems.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to Information Technology and the business to align with regulatory and security requirements
  • Integrates comprehensive metrics into the security posture of the organization, identifies areas of weakness and vulnerability and recommends changes to meet security standards
  • Applies working knowledge and application of relevant competency models in work activities
  • Work includes the following
  • Secure OS, workstations, data management, web technology, and protocols
  • Secure wireless networking and mobile computing
  • Attack sensing and warning
  • Intrusion detection and event investigation and response
  • Host and network security auditing
  • Computer and network forensics
  • Cyber Situation and awareness
  • Penetration testing and exploit analysis
  • Insider threat analysis
  • Cryptography theory and protocols
  • Cryptographic hardware, software and application

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of experience in an information security role, where the majority of duties included the engineering, threat and vulnerability management, and oversight of information security systems.
  • Experience in a security role with strong working knowledge and understanding of information security. frameworks, incident management, operations and application security best practices.
  • Experience managing prevention, detection and verification security programs.
  • Microsoft environment experience.
  • Project Management experience for mid-sized projects.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Nevada, Michigan, and Mississippi Gaming Licenses required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong problem solving, logical thought processes and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement ad-hoc assignments.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Professional presence to communicate the business impact a risk exposes to executives, technical staff, auditors and end users.
  • Exceptional technical skills
  • Versed on network-borne attack vectors and feasible mitigating controls.
  • Subject Matter Expert on secure network configurations.
  • Web application and database security sensors.
  • Web 2.0 Firewalls.
  • IPS/IDS sensors.
  • Web content URL-filtering applications.
  • Reviewing OS and Application security patch requirements.
  • Enterprise Encryption programs.
  • Securing and monitoring messaging systems (Email, IM, SMS and MMS).
  • eCommerce systems.
  • ecure file transfer solutions.
  • Large wireless environments.
  • Anti-Virus, Malware, and Spyware management and remediation.
  • Remote access solutions.
  • Forensic and Investigative tools.
  • Server, Network and Firewall management programs.
  • Data at Rest, In Motion, and Loss Prevention programs.
  • PCI, SOX, MICS requirements.
  • Network Access Controls.
  • Security Incident Response programs.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to walk, stoop, and or kneel.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position performs the majority of duties and responsibilities in a climate controlled office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
Regular scheduled hours - Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must be flexible, if needed, for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
