Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit for a contract DNA Scientist role on behalf of a client.
The Client: Working in a defence research organisation
The Job:
Prepare and review DNA analysis and associated bespoke reporting and briefs, across a range of formats.
Assist with QA and QC relating to the use of DNA, liaising with other team and group members as appropriate.
Provide advice to team and group members on the use of DNA profiling and associated techniques and procedures.
Skills Required:
Proven ability to understand and apply the principles of DNA forensics and genetics.
Proven ability to understand, interpret, report and review the results derived from DNA analysis.
Knowledge of present Forensic DNA STR profiling techniques and associated statistical evaluation.
Proven track record of successfully working in the forensic science sector.
Knowledge of the military/current operational situation.
A solid and proven academic background in a scientific discipline (such as forensic science, chemistry or genetics) or equivalent experience in the field of DNA forensics.
Practical laboratory experience.
Experience of capability development and planning.
Experience of preparing evidence witness statements and providing expert testimony within a court environment.
Degree/post graduate qualifications in a scientific numerate discipline (such as forensic science, chemistry or genetics) or equivalent experience in the field of DNA forensics.
This is a 2-3 month contract role and is commutable from Croydon, Maidstone, Crawley and Dartford.
