Reservoir Engineer is urgently needed to fill a position inHouston,TXwith a super major E&P company.Progressive Global Energy & Natural Resources specializes in delivering first-rate professionals to the Oil & Gas industry. I work specifically with Reservoir Engineers and have been hired to execute an executive search to fill this role as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work as an individual contributor interfacing with a broad spectrum of highly skilled individuals to (1) design and execute pilot tests inColoradoandJordanand (2) support the planning of a commercial development
- Contribute to the Reservoir Engineering assessments for the ICP process in support of field tests,pilots and commercial projects through identify, select, define and execute inColoradoandJordan
- Participate in the timely delivery of reservoir simulations (production functions,energy requirements) for ICP pilots and commercial developments through all phases of project development
- Incorporate R&D learnings and advancements in Reservoir Engineering analyses
- Ensure results have gained the necessary technical assurance from senior reservoir engineers in support development activities
- Support oil shale pilot operations team by reviewing field data and recommending actions to ensure successful and safe pilot operations
- Working under the direction of a Senior Reservoir Engineer, Integrate Reservoir Engineering aspects of the projects for appropriate Review and Assurance process
Requirements:
- Suitable reservoir modeling acumen (run time optimization, QA/QC results, history matching, optimization of results, numerical tuning, coupling results with economic output)
- Ability to analyze, support and communicate technical analysis and well-founded decisions to a broad range of potential stakeholders
- Ability to integrate HSSE into Plans and Procedures
- Ability to contribute with the delivery of results in a highly changing organization with highly uncertain data
- Skills in MS Office suite (particularly Excel)
Beneficial Skills:
- Experience with CMG STARS
- Knowledge of well and reservoir surveillance, operational experience (hands-on on-site field experience, in-field problem solving) and experience in heavy oil and thermal pilots
- Experience with smart completion design, production chemistry or corrosion, and high temperatures operations
- Experience with the preparation and execution of field development plans and participation in integrated field studies
Qualifications:
- Must have legal authorization to work in theUSon a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Minimum of five (5) years Petroleum /Reservoir Engineering with an emphasis on reservoir modeling and simulations
- Bachelor or higher degree in Geosciences, Physics, Engineering or relevant Production Engineering discipline (Masters or higher degree preferred)
- Experienced in thermal recovery process evaluation and simulation using commercial tools
- Ability to work effectively with multiple teams to deliver and secure buy in for complex technologies and projects
- Ability to execute work plans and deliver on targets
