An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Engineer. Responsible for the maintenance and support of key Middleware technologies, the MQ Engineer will be able to work in a progressing technology environment alongside a global team of strong technical professionals.
Reporting to the Regional Middleware Manager for this global investment and retail bank this role requires an experienced and dynamic MQ Middleware Engineer. Working in a support capacity, this role, based in the heart of Singapore's financial district is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain further exposure to the global investment banking world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide production support to the business in diagnosing problems on the MQ platform
- Facilitate Migration of MQ to approved versions.
- Implement security aspects related to MQ (OAM and SSL)
- Own/Prepare Root Cause Analysis for Major incidents/problems
- Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ
- Provide support for ongoing migrations
- Ensure that any issues that may impact payment flows are dealt with, or escalated in a timely manner
- Provide feedback to the development team as to requirements or enhancements
- Ensure compliance with any internal and external regulatory requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum 4 years experience in IT or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience of AS400/UNIX/Linux with strong Scripting experience (Unix Shell/Perl)
- Minimum 2 years experience in MQ in a support/admin role.
- Excellent knowledge of WebSphere MQ
- Solid knowledge of industry monitoring and performance tools
- Knowledge of digital certificate nomenclature (eg SSL) and administration
- Excellent Unix (Scripting) skills
- Direct experience of disaster recovery, business continuity and high availability measures as they relate to MQ
Excellent communication skills and a tertiary qualification in Engineering or Information Technology are highly advantageous.
