Master Planner/Scheduler - Engineering

Main Responsibilities:
*Develop Master Supply plan based on demand requirements from actual Sales Orders, Forecast and Reorder Points. Translates the build plan into firm purchase orders to drive MRP (Visual)
*Work with internal stakeholders to better understand competitive lead times for master scheduled items. Seek ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to the customer
*Conduct monthly Sales Inventory Operations Planning meetings prior to publishing a master schedule in which significant changes have occurred
*Identify, negotiate and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising integrity
*Monitor orders against forecast; calculate forecast error and communicate to internal stakeholders to drive review and correction to demand
*Maintain weekly Operations Shipment Forecast that identify projected revenue, reasons behind movement and significant changes
*Maintain planned scheduling parameters such as lead time, lot size, safety stock, delivery times and order file data for all master scheduled items
*Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load leveling, etc
*Continually look for ways to improve processes within Planning; provide recommendations for process improvement across department that support operational goals for customer service, quality, reduction in cost and innovation

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Qualifications - Undergraduate degree (or equivalent academic/vocational level -) in Operations Management or Supply Chain management
Minimum 5 years experience with planning production in a diverse discreet manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years experience with automated master production scheduling, capacity management and shop floor applications. (Visual ERP experience desirable) APICS certification, CPIM
Possess a thorough understanding of forecasting and master production scheduling principals in both make-to-stock and make-to-order environments
Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Capable of being a self starter with a minimal amount of direct supervision
Must be proficient in MRP, Master Production Scheduling systems, Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel and Word
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload to achieve results.
Identifies problems and takes appropriate action based on evaluation of all possible options
Initiates supports or responds to change by continually striving to improve processes or performance consistent with the needs of the business
Works effectively with others throughout the Company towards the attainment of Company goals
Considers the financial and commercial implications when taking action/making decisions
Responds positively to changing situations/priorities in order to achieve Company objectives.
Possesses the gravitas to instil confidence and establish successful relationships at all levels.
