The Technical Landscape Services Software License Management Analyst' leads the essential E2E Software licence management tasks of the team enabling them to meet customer demands to deliver Software licenses to internal and external customers globally in a timely & efficient manner. This includes helping the team to distribute sometimes physically software to our external customers.
The Licensing out support service is split in two parts.
The first support part is the technical 1/2nd line support related to distributed Safenet/Sentinel licenses with customers and providing support related to the existing tool/infrastructure developed to create these licenses. Another part of their work is related to consultancy to application developers on the in-house developed Safenet Sentinel module (also called blackbox) and deliver services on the wrapping of software and creation of required configuration files for each unique application (mainly updates for existing protected software and rarely new offered software). Finally they also perform the role in taking care of the technical relationship with our Safenet/Sentinel vendor for support & maintenance (eg. escalating issues to vendor).
The second support part is Day-to-Day licensing distribution for Safenet/Sentinel protected software and software licensing. Further taking care of the administration of licenses and on request sending out Software applications via a CDROM burning services.
The Software License Management Analyst role will own processes to perform:
- Work with Application owners to understand license distribution requirements and contractual agreements with third parties
- Controlled distribution of software licenses and applications packages to internal and external parties
- Deployment of Sw Licenses relative to contractual agreements
- License and maintenance payment & approval
- Monitoring of Software License actual usage
Technical Skills and Experience:
Experience required to fulfil the support tasks:
- C++ >= GSLM.DLL Creation and maintenance
- .NET >= Web service -> Retrieving licenses + GS License Manager from client side
- MS Access >= Maintaining Database
- Sentinel >= Licensing and Wrapping + Creating lsinit
- VBA >= License sheet maintenance (for applications like RRM - PRO2COL - PROMOTE, Fred, Shepperd and a lot more)
Technical - Needs General Knowledge & skill MS Office IT tools especially Outlook & Excel. Use of Web applications
Preferred but not essential is Licence Management experience:
- Experience in performing License generation tasks through Excel, Access and license meter (USB dongle)
- Experience in distribution, monitoring usage and processing payments of software licenses
- Previous experience with Safenet/Sentinel/FlexLM
