Description
Key Deliverables- To manage a range of Acute contracts each year within an overall plan to meet the needs of patients
- To forge constructive relationships with contracted organisations that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes but at the same time to manage expectations using the contract as a framework for delivery
- To be a key member of the team that develops negotiates and agrees each contract through the annual contracting process thus ensuring all documents are signed in accordance with agreed timeframes
- Responsible for planning and managing a range of CQUIN and KPI schemes
- To manage all contracts during the year to ensure financial risk to the Trust is minimised, analysing complex financial and performance data and judging whether corrective action as necessary along with other partners (e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups) to ensure a favourable financial position is delivered
- Negotiate best value tariffs and activity levels with providers through use of PBR flexibilities such as split tariffs.
Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Recent relevant experience of Acute services contract or performance management at a managerial level in the NHS (or relevant environment) with proven track record of using professional knowledge to bring about change
- Track record of achievement in the development and delivery of improved services
- Experience of facilitating and managing change
- Experience of working across organisations
- Understanding of the NHS strategy and policy agendas
- Knowledge and experience of commissioning procedures
- Understanding of service improvement tools and techniques
