Interim Finance Manager - 12 - 15 month maternity contract.

Job Overview:

To manage a team of Management Accountants within the Retail and CFS (Convenience and Fuel Solutions) business unit to ensure the general ledger close process is timely and accurate and to contribute to the improvement of all aspects of the GL team's activity.

Dutiies & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strong financial controls and systems are established & managed pro-actively ensuring the controls are maintained.
  • Ensure monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting is completed in a timely manner
  • Manage team including recruitment and performance reviews.
  • Support any continuous improvement initiatives associated with the business units.
  • Ensure financial compliance to US Gaap, and that audit standards are achieved at any audit.
  • Adhoc financial analysis as requested.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and systems are managed and pro-actively ensure the controls are maintained.
  • Support Financial Controller in production of project papers and business cases as required.
  • Production of monthly trading accounts to deadlines. Reconciliation of variances and highlighting any opportunities or risks.
  • Production of monthly reporting accounts packs for review .
  • Management of Key Performance indicators (KPI's).
  • Project costing, tracking & reporting.
  • Provide costings and commercial support for new business opportunities as requested.
  • Compile analysis on key expenditure by individual for cars, mobiles and travel & accommodation.

Position Requirements

  • Proven team management experience, (management experience of 3 - 4 staff)
  • Multinational, multi-currency environment exposure
  • Experience of managing in a dynamic environment.

Skills:

  • Technical Accounting ability
  • Intermediate Excel skills

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant/Part qualified & able to demonstrate strong quantitative/numerical skills

Competencies:

  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Staff Management
  • Commercial understanding of retail sales sector, experience of technology/telecoms an advantage
  • Pro-active, skilled at juggling tasks and managing their own time.
  • Able to escalate commercially sensitive issues in a diplomatic manner back to stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in taking responsibility for meeting deadlines, self-review and ownership of work produced
