Description

Purpose:

To develop and execute process development activities and support production for engineering projects/product lines. Area of work involves manufacturing processes with interaction between production and engineering groups in resolving problems encountered on the production floor. Also assist in bringing new products to production.

Key Duties:

- Lead improvements to product quality and production processes
- Provide floor support to production processes.
- Analyze process, product, material or equipment specifications and performance requirements. Order, install, and qualify new equipment when deemed necessary
- Drive the troubleshooting and corrective action effort for any process issues in designated area.
- Under broad supervision, compile and analyze operational, test and experimental data to establish performance standards (capability studies) for newly implemented or modified products / processes.
- Summarize and draw conclusions from test results leading to effective technical resolution of process problems.
- Troubleshoot existing and new products / processes working closely with production, quality and process development.
- Lead value improvement projects. Continually seek to drive / improvements in process design, layout and operational performance.
- Demonstrate good working knowledge and application of validation and statistical techniques in order to comply with associated regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Actively promote and participate in a cross-functional teamwork environment.
- Identify, coordinate, and monitor internal and external resources to complete assigned tasks within a predetermined timeline.
- Assist in the analysis, development and implementation of preventive actions which proactively resolve product, process and systems issues.
- Effectively manage engineering projects adhering to financial and delivery commitments.
- Provide mentoring and training to other engineers.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
- Maintain product / process documentation (MPI, drawings, BOM's & routers)

List of Education/Experience/ Skills

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 3 years experience in medical device, healthcare or related field. Engineering technology experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Minimum of 3 years experience in medical device, healthcare ore related field. Knowledge and understanding in development and testing of production processes required. Able to demonstrate experience managing complex, cross-functional projects. Proficient use of analytical tools to make economic business decision. Experienced with controlled documentation and generating CR's. Knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and MDD/ISO Quality Systems.

Special Skills: Pro-E, AutoCAD, PLC and Visual Basic programming experience preferred. Proficient use in current versions of MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Statistical Analysis software (i.e. Minitab, Stat-Graphics) preferred. Experience in the principals of Lean Manufacturing.
