IS Software Project Manager - 6 months - HuntingdonStart date - 2 weeks
Rate - £400 p/d
Your role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of rojects on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the project board. These projects are likely to be focussed on the development or software based solutions to complex business challenges.
You will be responsible for delivery of the portfolio in order to achieve the required business outcomes as well as identifying and managing the risks and issues associated with it.
You will ensure the correct execution of the plans, monitor its progress and take any necessary action, as well as managing the expectations of the relevant business units. Communicating and dealing with 3rd party external suppliers will e key a part of this role, as will managing a number of senior stakeholders wthin the business.
Projects are likely to be up to £1m in cost, so you will need to ensure that the project produces the required deliverables regards cost, time and other constraints agreed, whilst also advising the project board of progress
You will possess either an APMP Certificate of Project Management or PRINCE2 practioners certificate and be able to demonstrate significant experience in working with large budget projects.
Strong IT skills are also essential in this role, requiring expertise in using MS applications, particularly SharePoint 2010 and SAP. Candidates who can demonstrate a breadth of technical experience around applications and SAP will at an advantage.
Advanced planning skills, communication and quality management skills are all essential in making this role a success, whilst also being able to negotiate at a good level and have the ability to control large Budgets
To succeed in this role you will be a highly motivated self-starter able to work under pressure with a high degree of independence.
Energy and enthusiasm will be key indicators alongside strong technical project skills.
