Description
For a major client telecommunications restructuring project in Angola, we are looking for an excellent senior project leader at executive level who must have the following qualifying experience:
- Telecommunications experience (>5yrs+ with telco operator)
- Strong business background in the telecommunication industry (with respect to fixed and wireless telco operators), Business Development, Business plan, commercial experience
- Broad understanding of technology, products, services and market trends in telecommunication market worldwide and in Africa Restructuring and turn-around Projects
- Proven Leadership skills
- Strategic ability
- Fluent Portuguese
- Experience in Africa, (if possible in Angola)
- Strong project management skills, ability to structure topics and create related Board-Level presentations
Project Tasks:
- Restructuring of telecommunications company in all areas to assure the availability of demand driven telecommunication services based on state of the art ICT infrastructure.
- Support of Project Manager (PM) in coordination and facilitating of tasks, priorities and milestones for the restructuring program, alignment of the Interim Managers Commercial (CCO), Finance (CFO), Operations (COO), HR (CHRO) and Strategy (CSO) within regular Executive committee
- Planning and execution of all tasks within Project Management Office (PMO)
- Support for budget planning and monitoring of CAPEX and OPEX in the PMO
- co rdination of tasks, priorities and milestones for the project in Commercial, Finance, Operations, HR and Strategy areas within regular Stream Leader meeting and leading. Facilitating the achievement of performance. and resolution of conflicts
- Establishing of restructuring program reporting based on strategic initiatives, business plan and operational plans of the areas
- Support of the Project Manager in the overall project for updating and tracking of the overall restructuring program plan
- Consolidation of project reporting out of the Work Streams, support in the creation of project management reports
- Support in the creation of presentations at Board level and SteerCo meetings
- Update, adjustment and monitoring of the project master plan
- Project controlling on behalf of the overall project manager
- Planning and execution of the internal project communication
- Consulting support for the development, introduction and adaptation of processes within the client ased on the needs of the restructuring program
- Support in preparation of decision documents for projects in the area of Strategic PMO operations
- Support in preparation of submissions to facilitate the decision making process for Steering Board
Job prerequisites:
- Degree in Economics and/or Business Administration specializing in strategy and/or business development and/or Finance and/or business and organizational transformation. Possible as well is a degree in Engineering and/or Communication Technology when combined with working experience in a similar function.
- Broad experience and expertise in telecommunication business and technologies, high-tech products and communication infrastructure
- More than 5 years experience in restructuring and turnaround management projects within the telecommunication industry
- Reliable project references for similar projects outside of Europe
- Extensive product, technology and market knowledge of the international telecommunications market with a particular focus on the African/Angolan market
- Experience in telco service portfolio, telco operations, telco organization and processes expertise concerning the telecommunications value chain
- Broad understanding of technology, products, services and market trends in the telecommunication market worldwide and in Africa
Excellent professional written and verbal communication in Portuguese and English required
