A highly-regarded Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Release Manager to design and establish a Release Management Framework and underlying processes for their IT Division. This is an initial 5 month contract with the view to extend a further 6 months

Your responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to) the following:

• Creation of a Release Management Framework in line with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.
• Define and document processes for the release management, including linkages to other activities including change, deployment and configuration management; testing and introduction into service certification
• Define quality assurance check points.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders as necessary
• Provide input into the resource scheduling and forward planning.

To be successful, you will need to possess the following:

• A thorough understanding of best practices from inception until go-live/stabilization 
• Strong background in information technology management
• Strong process knowledge of System Development Life Cycles
• Excellent program and project management skills
• ITIL qualification
