Description
Qualifications:- Experience as a Geoscience Technician for an oil company (8+ years).
- The Geotech will work alongside geologists, engineers as well as the Director of Fields & the VP of Exploration
- Strong geological understanding with preferably a Bachelors degree in Geoscience
- Perform data management, exploration and production mapping, and technical support as required
- Experienced user of Excel, Word and most importantly PowerPoint.
- Strong GIS mapping experience with the ability to produce maps of offset operators, producing horizons and/or cumulative production.
- Good written and oral communication skills with attention to accuracy and detail
- Undertake competitor analysis and provide scouting assistance
- Must be well organized, motivated and hard working
About the role:
This position will require the incumbent to "get their hands dirty". Our managers are "working managers" so this is expected of all employee
The team is small and works well together.
They are hiring because this is a newly created position, not as a result of turnover.
There are 2 members of the team that have a lot of experience between and are ready to train if needed. The Exploration Manager and Engineering Manager are also keen to mentor.
They will develop a training program for this role based on the individual's needs.
They expect their employees to be autonomous, motivated, and open to learning new topics. Employees should also be able to discuss and defend their work, but not afraid to ask questions or challenge ideas.
