Core Operations/ System AdministratorMy client is within the top twoelectronic trading firms and market makers in the world.
As they are determined to increase their market share and take the number one spot they
are investing heavily in their infrastructure. This has meant that there is an opportunity
for a core operations / system administrator to work as part of an integral member of a
small, fast-pace team, in their growing Dublin City Centre office, Dublin 2. You will
work on the cutting edge of technology within the financial sector.
The role:
- Researching and investigating trading glitches, troubleshooting specific order or
exchange malfunctions, and resolving system component problems.
- The core operations team is the front-line interface with venues and exchanges,
ensuring the system is always connected and running at peak performance.
- This role is very hands-on and requires a combination of inter-personal skills
(acting as a liaison with traders and venues) and technical skills to manage
order routing connections to electronic marketplaces.
Personally:
- You must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- You must be technically savy, and adaptable.
- You must be able to multi-task, as you will be hit with many things at once.
- You must be the type of person that is the first to notice problems and take action.
Essential:
- Thorough knowledge of Linux (2 year minimum administering Linux systems in a
production environment)
- Experience with shell-scripting and regex
- Experience working with complex networking infrastructure (i.e. how data transverses
a network, TCP, UDP, etc.)
- Experience programming in high transaction environments and low-latency systems
- Experience working with the transition from front-end applications to back-end support
Desirable:
- Experience working with financial systems; or knowledge of world financial
market places
- Experience with PERFL and BASH
- Experience in core JAVA and Python
- Personal technical challenges.
You will work on the cutting edge of technology within the financial sector.
As my client has a high technical budget you will be working with the latest
and greatest technologies on the market place.
There is an excellent salary on offer of €60,000 - €75,000. This is a really
