POSITION: RISK Technology Java DeveloperLEVEL: Consultant / Contractor
REPORTS TO: Senior Developer Lead
LOCATION: New York City
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This is a senior Java developer position to work on multiple Market Risk Initiatives in the Strategic Global Platform
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Experience:
- 8+ Years of core Java programming experience required at a senior developer level.
- 3+ years of Flex UI programming experience
- Working knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis / Design
- Ability to write high performance code
- Should be good at multithreading and distributed systems.
- Experience in Spring.
- Flex experience creating good and complex user interface representing financial data.
- Experience building distributed systems, caching technology.
- Candidate should have good command over concurrency, performance optimization, large data processing and optimal memory storage.
- Strong Database skills across SQL Server, Oracle ExaData
- Good experience in working with in-memory, cache systems
- Good Development rigor with code reviews, unit testing
Other Competencies:
- Knowledge of Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk in Capital Markets
- Familiarity of Financial Products and Market Data. Specifically Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivative instruments.
- Manage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
- Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design
- Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of the project
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Market risk, Capital Markets, Credit derivatives, Greeks, Taylor Series, Monte Carlo models.
