Naval Support Engineer/6 month Contract/£13.95 PAYE per hour
My client is a well respected and highly dynamic engineering organisation. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to recruit a motivated individual to provide support for ships undergoing refit and upgrade.
Suitable candidates should fulfil the following criteria below:
- Review of guidance updates to proof read and check for engineering anomalies, under the guidance of the project engineer
- Assisting the Project Engineer in the embodiment, conduct of trials and inspections
- Compile Modification and trials information packs and muster equipment prior to embodiment
- Assist in the compilation and maintenance of Modification Documentation records including Safety, test and trials, Factory acceptance tests, etc.
- Assist in the specification and progress control of purchasing for the Modification Bill of Materials
As the Support Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Qualification in relevant engineering discipline, preferably BTEC HNC or higher
- Served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Weapon Engineering systems and/or Marine/Mechanical Systems
- Ideally have experience on RN MCMV systems appropriate to your Engineering discipline
- Good understanding of ship refit/upgrade activities and related RN engineering standards.
- IT skills - MS Office suite, use of AutoCAD
- Good communication and written skills, including ability to read technical drawings
