THE COMPANY

You will be working for one of the largest digital marketing services in Australia. Based in Melbourne CBD, conveniently located close to public transport, this company is recognised as a leader in their field.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Dev Ops Consultant you will:

  • Install, configure and maintain Unix systems and Middleware components to support application delivery
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of continuous delivery strategy and tools
  • Assume responsibility for the on-time, on-quality release of both environment and application components
  • Contribute to the management and governance of deployment environments
  • Contribute to the technical direction of the application delivery teams
  • Liaise with IT groups and the business to ensure best practice is followed
  • Ensure timely resolution of environmental and deployment issues escalated from development and testing teams
  • Assume BAU support for development/testing environments, resolving environmental and application issues
  • Where necessary initiate and manage involvement of additional internal technical groups
  • Provide and update all relevant documentation for infrastructure and applications.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

As the ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience with the installation and configuration of Java/J2EE application Servers (Tomcat)
  • Solid knowledge and demonstrated experience with the installation and configuration of web Servers (Apache)
  • Experience with UNIX operating system (Linux - Ubuntu, Centos, Solaris)
  • Practical experience with continuous integration Servers (Jenkins)
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Practical experience with infrastructure automation frameworks (Puppet)
  • Practical experience with installation and configuration of Oracle database
  • Experience with Scripting languages like Ruby (Ruby on Rails), Perl, Bash
  • Excellent time management and self-management skills
  • Good oral & written communications skills
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of issues and deliverables
  • Flexible and able to take on a variety of roles including some level of leadership
