Job Title: Installation Design Engineer
Salary: £36 - £46 per hour
Location: Christchurch, Bournemouth
Purpose of the role:
This role is for an Installation Design Engineer to work in a Naval Communications project team. The engineer will be responsible for the implementation of Naval cabinet equipment fits.
Key responsibilities for the role:
*Design Authority for installation design aspects ensuring they meet company quality and integrity
*requirements
*Completion of installation design rationale documentation for communications equipment fits.
*Design, review and approve modifications to existing mains, signal and mechanical cabinet designs
*Carry out "as fitted" survey of installed cabinets.
*Update existing drawing pack ready for delivery to support
Key skills, experience and qualifications:
Essential;
*5 years experience of cabinet installation design
*Lead engineer responsible for design & build of 19" rack equipment fits
*Responsible for approval of mains electrical designs
*Qualification in mechanical/electrical or other engineering.
Desirable;
*Pro-E mechanical/electrical drawing
*EMC and Environmental design techniques for military environment
*Shock/vibration mounted rack designs for military environment
Key competencies required for the job;
*19" Cabinet installation design (including mechanical fittings)
*Signal cabling design
*Power distribution design
*Safety assessments of electrical designs - Low Voltage Directive
*IEE wiring regulations
*Self motivated & able to manage/plan own workload
*Good team worker/communicator
