Senior Hardware Engineer required to work on a customer site and be responsible for all technical and engineering issues during integration and production.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading design improvement and enhancement activities, problem and defect resolution, support to production, UPC reduction, design out of obsolescence, and other areas of product development and integration.

The candidate will be required to act as an interface between main equipment development, test equipment development, and production, ensuring alignment of these activities. There will also be a requirement to provide key technical support in the development of bids and proposals. The candidate will be expected to collate and present lessons learned on current production programmes for the benefit of new product development.

It is essential that the applicant has a proven track record of leading significant RF/Mixed Signal development in a related sphere. Ideally the candidate would have recent practical experience of identifying and resolving design margin and manufacturability issues in high complexity mixed RF/Digital systems. It is essential that the candidate has significant practical electronic equipment development experience.

Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is also essential:
Microwave and RF design and development.
Digital Signal Processing techniques.
Knowledge of high performance ADCs.
Knowledge of military airborne avionics design and development techniques.
Experience of diagnosing hardware faults.
Experience of determining design margin.
Ability to collect investigation data and analyse in Excel, Mathcad or Matlab is essential.
Ability to understand component specifications and SRI/LRI specifications.
Experience of using digital/analogue/RF test equipment is essential.
Experience of MIL STD 1553 Bus is desirable.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
