As part of one of the largest in house marketing teams in the UK, the Online Sales & Marketing team has responsibility for acquiring new Customers through various digital channels (Organic Search, Paid Search, Display advertising, Affiliates and email), and then converting that traffic to orders in as greater proportion as possible.

Online is one of the most important channels and is set to become even more crucial over the next 12-24 months. In order to realise this ambition candidates with very specific and desirable skills to are required join the current team of digital marketing specialists.

This position is responsible for conversion optimisation of the shop section of the website, which splits into two main areas - campaign delivery and optimisation, and conversion optimisation through testing and design initiatives.

Role specific responsibilities

  • Achieve conversion and attachment targets and various satisfaction ratings
  • Regular performance reporting and identification of conversion opportunities
  • Deliver quarterly campaigns and offers in line with the overall sync plan, including cross channel integration and collaboration with other routes to market
  • Innovate the site with a range of conversion optimisation projects to improve the user experience and conversion rate
  • Drive the roadmap of test and target campaigns to build an understanding of optimal site design and performance
  • Lead the Chat service, designing initiatives to maximise its effectiveness
  • Regular reporting on competitor activity and new online innovations to ensure the company remains at the forefront of E-commerce site design
  • Forge strong relationships with the traffic generation team to optimise the end to end online journey and purchase process
  • Build strong relationships with the E Experience and Software Engineering teams
  • Manage and develop a growing team of campaign and conversion specialists
  • Regular performance forecasting and budget management

Candidate requirements

  • Demonstration of conversion improvement initiatives on high volume E-commerce sites
  • Highly analytical with good experience of online performance reporting, and evidence of using performance insight to improve site design and conversion performance
  • Experience of implementing Web 2.0 tools and techniques to improve the user experience
  • Experience of using content management systems
  • Results orientated with evidence of ownership, delivery and exceeding of business metrics/objectives
  • Experience of using A/B and multivariate testing tools and techniques
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to deliver a high volume of quality work, juggling multiple concurrent tasks and hit tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Understanding of commonly used web tools and technologies
  • Ability to write concise business/marketing requirements into a language understood by a technical audience.
  • Strong brief writing skills and articulation of requirements to creative teams to ensure inspiration, whilst ensuring delivery on brief, time and budget.
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Demonstration of influence and persuasion skills
  • Resilient and determined
  • Good team player with good evidence of completing projects via large teams
  • Marketing or Business degree
