Mechanical Engineer

This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to a team of engineers. The ideal applicant will be responsible for the production of mechanical systems diagrams (eg air, hydraulics, sea water, cooling water systems) and technical specifications for pumps, compressors, etc, and in addition, produce supporting calculations and undertake design reviews to support the issue of the diagrams.
This will include;
- Undertaking design reviews and presentations to customers
- Producing Outline Functional System Diagrams.
- Writing Technical specifications/reports
- Liaising with internal and external customers as required, ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported
- Attend factory acceptance trials and system trials/analysis when required.
- Have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation.
Skills/experience required
- Degree or equivalent
- CEng, IMechE (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)
- Previous experience in mechanical engineering with ability to produce schematics/diagrams which show the systems functionality and the control and instrumentation requirement Experience of working within submarines, shipbuilding, defence, oil and gas, automotive or building services
- Technical report writing skills
