A great opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect with a background in Datawarehouse, Metadata, and SQL!

Our client, a large Federal Government department, to lead development work associated with the department's Glossary, Enterprise Data Model, definitional taxonomy work, terms and definitions, and the uptake of the Glossary as an integral part of the department's enterprise metadata management system.

The Enterprise Architect will work in a team to acquire and document business requirements, including assisting with managing stakeholder expectations, developing project scope and producing detailed design documentation to ensure the successful completion of an assigned project.

The role:

  • Develop and deliver a data architecture framework for a metadata management capability encompassing a metadata repository that will include taxonomies.
  • Develop and deliver a metadata standard for the department including the identification and delivery of relevant sub-sets for specific information domains.
  • Lead discussions, workshops and project meetings with business stakeholders and project team members in the analysis of requirements for a metadata repository and standard.
  • Provide direction on interpretation of business requirements and systems/technical documentation for the department's managed metadata environment and repository
  • Work as an effective team member or team leader; share/transfer knowledge and information with the team and help others meet team priorities

Skills/experience:

  • Large Datawarehouse literacy experience
  • Experience with both Relational and Dimensional Data Models - approaches and advantages
  • Knowledge of taxonomy principles and practices
  • Knowledge of managed metadata environments and metadata principles
  • Experience in open source systems design and integration
  • Well developed business process modelling and business analysis skills
  • SQL knowledge (Teradata preferred).
