Our Client - One of the largest Open cast Mining Contractors in South Africa is looking for a Mine / Site Manager to run a open cast operation in the Northern Cape.Job Description - Manage & Lead 1000 staff including subcontractors on a open pit operation.
Manage Drilling, Blasting, Load & haul operations of 1.2 Million Cubes a month
Responsible for the Engineering & Maintenance Team
Ensure the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act No. 29 of 1996) safety and health standards are maintained.
Ensure adherence to the Minerals Act Regulation (3.1) legal appointment
Assist in the control, management and direction of the open cast working of the mine
Assist with the compiling of the Mining Strategic Plan (1-2 years)
Accurately forecast & control mining & scheduling according to the defined mining & engineering requirements.
Ensure that the site is maintained at specified performance and within prescribed technical legal requirements
Ensure a safe and environmentally acceptable operation
Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence
Manage Mining costs, budgeting, planning, procurement & client liaison
Candidate Requirements -
B.Sc Mining Degree or National Higher Mining Diploma
Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
Project Management experience/or qualification
8 years Managerial experience as Section Manager
