Our public sector client based in Oxford is looking for a Senior Contract and Procurement Officer to support the service delivery of the Corporate Plan and service plan at operational level. You will provide expert professional advice and support through contract management and supplier engagement, identifying and achieving best practice and good governance.

As Contract and Procurement Officer, you will also carry out the following:

*The delivery of an agreed work plan to enable the continuous service improvement, challenging existing practice and actively seeking ways of achieving greater outcomes.
*Provide professional advice and guidance to officers on procurement and supplier relationship issues.
*Developing exciting and innovative approaches to achieving and retaining long-term financial savings.
*Promote the benefits of good procurement activity through regular training, workshops and seminars to a wide range of audiences.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

*Full CIPS or at the final stage of studying towards CIPS qualification.
*A track record of leading, managing, delivering and improving services through effective contract management and a commercial approach to procurement.
*Experience of establishing strong working relationships closely across service areas and managing large teams.
*Detailed understanding and application of supplier development and vendor rating and detailed understanding and application of EU Procurement Regulations (OJEU/OJEC)
*Project management experience, ideally supported by a relevant qualification such as PRINCE2
