IBM's Technical Services Delivery Center opened in June/July 2009 in downtown Dubuque, Iowa and we're seeking Technical Support Specialists responsible for providing support for problem and change tickets for Client Server support operations surrounding the Commercial Web Middleware infrastructure. Incumbent assesses situation to determine problem facing the client. Problems are not routine or standardized and the creation of documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required. Responsible for implementing changes to the client's environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Support problem and change tickets for Client Server support operations for work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware, software, applications or network systems. These tasks are not standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve. Interaction with other teams is often required to solve issues
Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts within a pod while providing coaching and mentoring to the junior team members. This may require creating documentation or scripts that can be used to solve the same problem in the future.
Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input/advice from other team members. They may also discuss team performance trends. Team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
Lead and mentor support teams to execute Middleware infrastructure environments and complex OEM product upgrades.
Lead and mentor support teams in the correction of complex Middleware security non compliance issues.
Have the desire to learn and grow into new technologies

Required
At least 2 years experience in Middleware Administration experience within any of the following Technologies such as WebSphere Application Server, BEA Weblogic Application Server, IBM HTTP Server/Apache, Sun Web Server, WebSphere P
At least 2 years experience in at least one or more of the following: a installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
At least 5 years experience in supporting within any operating systems and Web Middleware infrastructure environments.
English: Fluent

Preferred
Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
At least 3 years experience in Middleware Administration experience within any of the following Technologies such as WebSphere Application Server, BEA Weblogic Application Server, IBM HTTP Server/Apache, Sun Web Server, WebSphere P
At least 3 years experience in at least one or more of the following: a installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
Basic knowledge in LEAN methodologies
Basic knowledge in Maximo tool
Certified in at least 1 Middleware product such as WebSphere Application Server or other similar technology

Description of Position:
A Web Hosting WebSphere/IHS Engineer is responsible for automating, testing, and maintaining the installation & build process of WebSphere and IHS components for the Web Environment on the commercial Account. The Web Hosting Middleware Engineer is also responsible for engineering a successful life cycle solution for J2EE applications.

Activities include but are not limited t
Creating/Testing automated installs and uninstalls of WebSphere/IHS software installed in the Web Environment
Support the WebSphere/IHS Software stack for the Web environment
Provide 24/7 support for WebSphere/IHS issues in the environment
Create and manage problem tickets with WebSphere/IHS vendors
Create and implement change tickets for Middleware products
Provide health and welfare services for Middleware products
Document and train Web Hosting teams on WebSphere/IHS components
Engineer and support J2EE deployment scripts
Document and train Web Hosting teams on deployment scripts, where applicable

Skills Required:
Excellent understanding of WebSphere Application Server 5.x, 6.x, 7.0 minimum of 3 years Internet based experience
Excellent understanding of WebSphere Portal Server 6.x
Excellent understanding of WebSphere Commerce Server 6.x
Excellent Ksh, Perl Scripting knowledge
Excellent JACL Scripting knowledge,
Excellent Jython Scripting knowledge
Knowledge of various Web Servers(IHS, SunOne, Apache)
Strong Server and network troubleshooting skills
Excellent Team work/communication skills
Ability to determine true RCA and recommend permanent solutions
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrate leadership skills during troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of Unix (AIX 5.3, Solaris 10, etc) and Linux (Redhat, zLinux, etc), with a minimum 3 years of Internet based experience
Strong knowledge of J2EE applications and the J2EE specification as it relates to infrastructure and deployments of applications.
Strong Negotiation and conflict management skills
