POSITION: Foreman – Mechanical
Supervisor -Mechanical
DEPARTMENT: Construction
TYPE OF PROJECT: The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MWe Coal Fired Super Critical Boilers for a coal fired power station to be erected in South Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the construction manager in all Boiler making activities on the section.
- Assist the Construction Manager /Senior Supervisor in running the site in a safe manner within budget and on time.
- Control man hours allowed for erection, ensure all budgets are met or improved.
- Update construction schedules
- Assist with drawing up of construction schedules.
- Ensure high standards of safety and quality are always met.
- Capable of working unsupervised and lead a team.
- Report all deviations from the scope of work in writing to the construction manager.
REQUIRMENTS:
- A recognized trade in the field of mechanical fitting with N3 or equivalent NQF level
- Foreman: 5-6 years’ experience in a specific field e.g. mechanical fitting, Boiler making ,Rigging, HP Piping, Welding.
- Supervisor: 10 years’ experience in his field e.g. mechanical fitting, Boiler making ,Rigging ,HP Piping ,Welding.
- Previous experience in supervision on similar work would a great advantage.
- Very comfortable with reading erection/construction drawings.
- A good understanding of QIP’s and quality procedures is essential.
- Experience with tools of the trade i.e. Dumpy levels, micrometers, theorities etc
