Highly desirable class III device company in Irvine California has an urgent requirement for a Class III device company.

This successful candidate will be expected to help with the process design for a cutting edge new technology, and work cross functionally with quality, and operations groups.

Position Summary:

Coordinate and direct process development, process improvement and operations management activities in the Operations Department. Interface as necessary with production employees, supervisors, engineers, management, vendors and customers to complete assignments. Seek optimum balance between process robustness, process cost and product quality.

-6 yrs+ experience in medical device industry

-mechanical, electrical or biomedical engineering degree

-proficiency with SolidWorks

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead, plan and direct the process development and process improvement activities of the Operations Department.

2. Provide technical assistance and on-the-job training to the production employees and supervisors, and ensure all work is performed in an expeditious, complete, cost effective manner.

3. Oversee critical process development work. Review the work of others for accuracy, completeness and quality.

4. Develop and implement long range process improvement plans based on cost, quality and delivery needs.

5. Interface as necessary with production employees, supervisors, engineers, management and customers to develop a common understanding of needs, assess priorities and develop and implement process changes.

6. Plan process development in advance, when possible, coordinating with the Production Control Department and in consideration of the manufacturing schedule to ensure economic and efficient use of material, people and manufacturing resources.

7. Develop an understanding of current and potential process capabilities and process control limits. Implement statistical process control (SPC) where appropriate. Provide on-the-job SPC training to the production employees and supervisors. Work with others to systematically ensure product quality through process control techniques.

8. Identify and order material, tooling and equipment necessary to support manufacturing operations. Recommend new equipment when justified by quality and/or cost benefits. Seek optimum balance between the value of the tooling inventory and development cycle time.
