Role: Oracle / PHP Application Developer with Vital OO experience

Type : Permanent

Salary: £35,000 k - £40,000 k

Location: City (Bank)

Role: Providing development services for business applications to a mixed front and back-office user community in multiple locations, with a focus on Oracle and/or PHP/PL/SQL, OO, PHP, HTML, and Javascript.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with customers and other IS teams to identify the most appropriate IT solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Developing viable technical designs to address the customer's functional requirements where development is appropriate.
  • Developing high-quality, robust applications, using the most appropriate tools and techniques, on time and within budget to meet business expectations.
  • Ensuring adequate input to design and development by other IS support teams, to maximise build quality and facilitate smooth deployment to production support.
  • Ensuring that all developments are fully documented, source code is properly controlled and that all necessary support and guidance is provided to production support teams.
  • Participating in the development of, and adhering to, appropriate technology and process standards, including programming, source code control, versioning and testing.
  • Keeping abreast of technical and process developments that would be of advantage to the business.


Requirements for the Position:
  • At least 3 years experience in an application development role.
  • A commitment to quality practices and a focus on the customer.
  • Computer Science Degree is vital
  • Good professional conduct, presentable to customers.
  • Proven experience of development using PL/SQL, PHP, HTML, Javascript, and XML/XSLT and OO.
  • Broad familiarity with IT technologies, including operating systems, relational databases, programming tools, wide-area and local-area networking, the Internet and telecommunications.
