Senior Java Developer

Description

The role of the Java Developer develop is to make enhancements to and support the various systems in accordance with business priority. Development role working primarily on the Online Banking system. Development and rollout of a full roadmap of functional additions. Development of Website and Mobile banking applications and integration with processing systems.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following:

• Design, Development and Unit-Test of Java applications
• Creation of functional and technical specifications in line with business requirements
• Deliver technical solutions for mission critical systems primarily in Java on a J2EE platform
• Development of Java scripts
• Integration in an Apache/Jboss/Oracle DB/MySQL DB/environment
• Development of JMS message queue solutions
• Provision of support services in accordance with agreed SLAs
• Monitor and investigate systems issues
• Support releases in accordance with development life cycle
• Identify and proactively communicate problems and recommend solutions
• Co-ordinate with system administrators during implementations

• Have a proven track record and capability to work closely with business users in a team-oriented environment.
• Have experience of managing 3rd party Applications related service providers
• Have experience in providing Applications support services in accordance with agreed SLAs.
• Have 8 or more years of Java experience in an IT environment.
• Financial services experience is desirable.
