A support engineer is required to provide control system, information technology and department management experience in order to support and develop the services in the Controls System Department service portfolio.

In particular the supporting engineer will provide support and expertise in the following areas: Supervision Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, all aspects of networking: LAN/WAN/VPNs including fibre optic experience.

The role will include support of a real time QNX operating system, support of subsystems including PABX / fire systems / CCTV / public address / radio frequency distribution and intercom systems.
The engineer will provide IT support covering workstations and all the major servers including MS NT// Exchange in both physical and virtual environments. The engineer is expected to be able to provide support of system databases including SQL / MySQL / Oracle and Access.
The engineer will be expected to provide hands on technical implementation project skills and will be responsible for system commissioning ( FAT, SAT & UAT) of systems including IT, Radio, CCTV, server rooms, temperature monitoring and MV/LV management systems.

The engineer shall provide practical systems analysis and design experience for management information systems and will assist in the roll out and compliance of an ITIL based department.
Development and maintenance of the IT infrastructure Installation configuration and maintenance experience of network devices including switches and routers

Desirable to the Role:
Microsoft certifications
CISCO CCNA or better
B.Sc / B.Eng
C&G Fibre Installation VMWare
QNX / Unix experience
Layer 3 routed networks
CISCO ASA experience
CCTV
Cisco Switches
PA Systems
Radio Systems
SCADA systems
PLCs

Knowledge & Experience:
Extensive administrative experience with installation and configuration of network infrastructure
Experience of Microsoft server products, printers, security hardware/software and installing third-party software
Knowledge of firewalls
Hardware/software troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP & OSPF networking and LAN infrastructure
Experience in the use of systems/network management technologies
Experience of radio frequency distribution
Basic knowledge of RTOS

Skills:
Network management experience in a complex 24 hr operational site / multisite
A structured and methodical approach to work
Service Management - ITIL
