Position

An integral member My clients team, he/she will initially report to the President, while providing direct daily assistance and technical support to the team responsible for Geology, Petroleum & Reservoir Engineering, Land, and Acquisitions. The individual will have primary responsibility for providing technical assistance with sub-surface data gathering, data management and data manipulation. He/she will utilize a variety of software applications in support of acquisitions, operations, and projects where the client is currently applying or screening candidate fields for application of the proprietary Activated Environment for Recovery of Oil (AERO™) technology.

Responsibilities
  • Providing technical support to team members and generating specific work products that assist evaluation of field acquisitions, field operations/performance, candidate field/reservoir screening for AERO™ application, etc.
  • Organizing, retrieving, and updating my client's field/reservoir information data sets such as well completion and production data, well logs, pressure data, maps, project files etc. Data management will cover both hard copy and digital data.
  • Sub-Surface data gathering, data management and data manipulation. Searching websites and using a variety of software applications including Petra, DrillingInfo, DI-Desktop, IHS and Microsoft Office.
  • Preparing spreadsheet databases and presentations as directed by team members
  • Preparing documentation and filing land & regulatory related documents and permits
  • Installing software and acquiring ''cultural'' and field specific data sets to enable the generation of maps, x-sections and to create power point slides.


Experience/Skills
  • 5-10 years of experience within the oil & gas industry is preferable
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of conventional wire-line logs
  • Capability to determine effective reservoir properties from logs, x-sections, maps, etc.
  • Capability to search diverse petroleum engineering and geoscience technical literature sources to compile data sets to carry out field studies or acquisition
  • Proficiency with Petra (or equivalent software) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to learn new software applications related to data management and manipulation
  • Ability to work independently, complete multiple, diverse tasks while balancing priorities
  • Strong written, presentation and communication skills
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies with upstream Oil & Gas jurisdiction would be a plus
  • Initiative, energy, creativity and drive to deliver results


Education
  • Associate's degree required (Bachelor's preferred)
