The Houston Product Center for a leading international service company is currently seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to work in their Sustaining Group or New Product Development Group. This company is known globally by their clients for their high quality products and services related to the oil and gas industry. Although you will be starting as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be met with the potential of moving in to a technical leadership role in the not too distant future.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in this location, you will be a specialist in safety or isolation valves. The position is hands-on and focused on mechanical engineering/design.

With the Sustaining group key responsibilities include:
  • Problem-solve and troubleshoot field related issues.
  • Modification design of existing product line(s).
  • New product design.
  • Liaise with field and manufacturing to ensure projects are delivered upon.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced members of staff (likely to be Mechanical Engineers and Designers)


Within the New Product Development group key responsibilities will be as follows:
  • R&D work on new products.
  • Adapt existing designs to product new concepts and take to market.
  • Detailed design and analysis (Calcs and FEA).


In addition to mechanical design of the products, the Mechanical Design Engineer is also responsible for conducting mechanical calculations (excel and MathCAD) and FEA.
