Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary: €65,000- €75,000 (Experience and Seniority Dependant)

From a Greenfield site a year ago my client really has made a mark on Dublin's IT space,
with their substantial growth and impressive technologies. As part of this growth they are
looking for a Senior Operations Excellence Manager to lead there operations team of 6 which
is filled with some of the freshest thinkers and brightest minds in the industry.
Reporting directly to the CIO, you will get to work with some of the most brilliant minds in
the industry. You will work with the Web Dir, Apps Dir, Infra Dir, and so on. The management
there come from fantastic backgrounds and impressive careers, from companies such as Amazon.
Unlike many roles of this nature you are not inheriting a team; it is brand new, which means
that you have the opportunity to shape and create your vision, moving forward. You will get to
lead a fantastic group of people. Having placed members of the team in there, I know the process
they go through to get the highest calibre of candidates. Your team will consist of really intelligent
people who are energetic, really technical, and most importantly passionate about what they do.
They are pushing technology forward, by questioning what is being done and proposing clever improvements.
You will get to lead and manage these advancements, encouraging these improvements,
while gently guiding your team forward.
What you will be doing:
- You will be responsible for improving customer experience by continuously
improving availability and performances across all websites and services.
- You will define in conjunction with your team the annual roadmap
- You will guide your team and the choice of the tools and framework to be used
- You will organize the 24 x 7 x 365 operational support
- You will drive resolution of the key operational pain points with the relevant
engineering team
- Your deep system architecture understanding will allow you to challenge issues and solutions
- You will provide weekly reports about the systems operational health
- You might present a weekly operational status to stake holders
What we need to see:
- 5+ years of management experience.
- A strong technical background with more than 10 years' engineering experience
- Good experience dealing with highly scalable architecture and enterprise level
systems.
- Demonstrate ability to manage diverse set of team members under challenging and
pressurized scenarios
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, regardless of the technical
level of the audience
- Strong people interaction and relationship building skills across multiple functions
within the organization
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability and customer focus
- Excellent oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal and presentation
skills
- Self-driven individual, who can drive actions and initiatives with minimal direction
and oversight
