Job DescriptionSoftware Quality Engineer - New Product Development
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is for a senior level engineer with extensive experience performing quality-engineering responsibilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the top technical professionals in the medical device industry on bringing cutting-edge technologies to market that will change the way medicine is practiced.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful incumbents are passionate coaches and cooperative partners for their colleagues in R&D, operations and other entities, both internally and externally to the company.
Currently searching for candidates with the following background:
1. Has worked with either developing, testing, or acting as a quality engineer for complex SW systems that consist of several sub systems
2. Has been exposed to requirements developments, verification, and validation at system, and sub-system level
3. Has a strong understanding of good SW and requirements development practices in a regulated industry
4. Experience with SW development lifecycle, change management, configuration management
5. Experience with object oriented SW development concepts for Real Time Systems
6. Experience with C, C++, Java, C#...
7. Experience with RTOS
8. Participated in design reviews, code reviews for complex SW development projects
9. Experience with various SW development environments and tools for embedded SW, and user application SW
Qualifications/ Work Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Successful incumbents have knowledge of and use a variety of risk management tools, design and process control activities, and validation testing methodologies to drive quality for new product development
* Solutions-based approach to quality engineering, wants to provide "added value" ("quality police" attitudes won't survive in our culture).
* Strong teaching, coaching and mentoring skills.
* Expert-level knowledge of current industry standards for product engineering and risk management practices ideally from the domain of safety critical applications
* Demonstrated ability to apply system quality management practices in efficient and effective ways while being compliant.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proven track record of stability and exceptional performance in past roles.
Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
* BS in Computer Science, systems engineering or related Engineering degree. Higher level degree highly preferred.
* 4+ years experience in new product development focused on quality engineering related activities. Strong preference given to 5+ years of experience and medical device industry experience.
* Certified Quality Engineering - ASQ certification preferred.
* Class III medical device and active implantable medical device experience preferred.
* German language skills a plus.
